National Highways - Important roadworks information: M1 between junctions 11a and 14 – essential maintenance repairs

Closures and diversions
To carry out the work safely, we will need to close the M1 between junctions 11a and 14 and divert traffic as follows:
Closure | Dates | Diversion |
M1 northbound between junctions 11a and 14 | Thursday 22 January 2026 | Traffic will be diverted via the A5. Then to the A505 to continue on the A4146. Then to the A5 onto V6 (Standing Way). Then follow the A4146 (Tongwell Street) to Childs Way to the A509 to rejoin the M1 at junction 14. Traffic wishing to join the M1 junction 13 will be diverted via the A421 to join the above diversion. |
M1 southbound between junctions 14 and 11a | Friday 23 January 2026 | Follow the above diversion in reverse. |
