Update as 15 August 2025
The Parish
Council met with representatives from Milton Keynes City Council last month to
discuss Wavendon Parish Council taking ownership and management of the Glebe
Farm allotment site and the first site in Eagle Farm.
The Parish Council are committed to taking on the responsibility but unfortunately, do not have the staff resources now to make a commitment on a date when this will be possible. We are currently preparing a budget that will include all costs (water / maintenance etc.) that must be covered in the hire fees and additional staff (including community wardens) to enable the Parish Council to take on the responsibility so that they can be hired out to residents that have expressed an interest in a plot.
We want to be able to have this in place in the first quarter of 2026 to enable the allotment plots to be hired out to residents.
Milton Keynes City Council have agreed to maintain the allotments sites until the Parish Council confirm that they have the resources in place to achieve this target.
Just a recap of what will be available.
Eagle Farm
There will be 22 allotments over four sites, six on site one, five on site 2, seven on site 3 and four on site 4.
The first six on site 1 have been modified by Milton Keynes City Council, Landscaping Department and are being maintained until the Parish Council can take on the responsibility of this site.
The five on site 2 and the seven on site 3 require work by the Developer with guidance from Milton Keynes City Council Landscaping Department to make sure that the soil quality and finish is to a high standard so that both sites can be handed over to Wavendon Parish Council. When completed Milton Keynes City Council Landscaping Department will maintain them until the Parish Council can take on the responsibility of this site.
A realistic target is March 2026 for when Wavendon Parish Council will be ready take on responsibility for these allotment sites to start the process of hiring these out to residents.
The four on site 4 will not be ready for until early 2026.
Currently 55 residents to date that have expressed an interest in hiring an allotment.
The policy of Wavendon Parish Council is that residents will be offered plots that live in Eagle Farm as there is limited parking space at each site. The Parish Council have a list, and these will be offered to residents in date of application first.
Glebe Farm
In total there will be 32 allotment plots available in Glebe Farm and 14 raised beds. Currently there are 70 residents to date that have expressed an interest in hiring an allotment.

Another update will be provided in the next edition of the newsletter in December 2025.
